Discovery Pack

Wine Box Experience - Kelsey Bonnette

A Personal Touch

Welcome to the GrapeFind experience! The goal of this Discovery Pack is to take you through the process of how members of our monthly subscription receive their personalized Somm experience at-home. By the end of this pack, you’ll understand how the wines sent to you represent the way your growth and understanding with wine will develop over time through your own membership.

When you signed up you filled out an Introductory Questionnaire which was full of all sorts of wine topics which helped me design a profile for you. The questions basically told me what your preferences were regarding wine, and through your responses I was able to figure out what style of wine you enjoy. My profile for you was that you are a medium-to-bold red wine drinker who leans towards a New World wine (any wines not produced in Europe) approach to wine making. So, what does that mean in plain English?

I saw you as a red wine drinker who likes strong flavors but doesn’t care for bitter or sharp qualities. With this in mind, I’ve selected wines for you which represent this style while also pushing you to try wines and grapes from around the world which fit your profile. When you sign-up for a subscription, you’d be presented different topics which would be designed to expand your understanding of wine month-to-month. Now let’s take a closer look at this pack’s selections.

First up we have the Kanonkop Pinotage Kadette from Stellenbosch in South Africa to showcase their national grape. When looking for a red grape that shows flavors which are jammy and intense you need to look no further than the Pinotage grape. It pops with dark red fruits but also has depth with layers of spice resembling grapes like Merlot or Malbec. This wine comes from world-renowned vineyards and winemakers who prefer a fruit-forward approach which falls right in line with your preferences.

Next up there’s the Day by Ehren Jordan Zinfandel from Sonoma County in Northern California. With this wine you get all lush, juicy fruits like strawberry and blueberry with hints of spicy licorice aromas. It’s layered with smooth flavors and mouthfeel which are known to be strong characteristics of wines from Sonoma County. Areas like Dry Creek Valley, Sonoma Mountain or Rockpile AVA (American Viticulture Area) are known for outrageous Zinfandels and this wine delivers on all these notes. Another wine which should lineup to your liking.

This is the experience I’m trying to present with GrapeFind. Introduce you to new and familiar wines but always pushing your understanding of wines and what goes into making them. Below you’ll find the QR Code to the wine descriptions to assist you in your learning process. Thank you for your support and I look forward to continuing to join you at home as we explore the exciting world of wine together. Cheers!
