The wine boasts a deep ruby-purple color with aromas of blackberries, raspberries, black cherries, dark plums and hints of violets, licorice, herbs and spices. On the palate, it offers a rich experience, with flavors of cherry, raspberry, crushed stone, dark chocolate, herbs, and graphite. Wine & Soul was founded by husband-and-wife winemakers Sandra Tavares da Silva and Jorge Serôdio Borges, two important figures in modern Portuguese wine. Their philosophy centers on preserving the Douro's extraordinary old vineyards and indigenous varieties. Quinta da Manoella has belonged to Jorge's family for five generations.
