Santa Barbara Winery Syrah Santa Ynez Valley

This wine is inky purple with aromas of blackberry, dried herbs, and white pepper. A blend of both cool climate and warmer climate grapes, this full-bodied wine has a deep richness nicely cut by its acidity. In 1962 Pierre Lafond founded the first post-prohibition commercial winery in Santa Barbara County. In 1971, he purchased land in the western Santa Ynez Valley and began planting what is now a 95 acre vineyard.
