Opawa Pinot Noir
The nose shows fruit characters of wild strawberries and plums with savory spice and a hint of toasty oak. Showing juicy acidity on the palate with flavors of red fruit and hints of licorice. Displaying soft tannins and smooth finish. Meaning “smoky river” in Maori, Opawa is a vineyard located on the old riverbed of the historic Opawa River in Marlborough. The vineyard was developed by Nautilus Estate who purchased the land in two parcels in 2001 and 2003.
