Region Profile: Red Mountain is Washington State’s smallest but most prestigious AVA, known for producing some of the boldest, most structured red wines in the Pacific Northwest. Located in the southeastern corner of the Yakima Valley within the larger Columbia Valley, this arid, southwest-facing slope gets abundant sunshine and strong diurnal shifts, which help grapes ripen fully while retaining acidity.
