Llenca Plana

A blend of Garnacha and Cariñena/Carignan, it’s a deep garnet color with aromas of blackberry, black cherry, and ripe plum with notes of licorice, crushed slate, herbs, and baking spices. Delivers dense dark fruit with hints of cocoa, graphite, and smoky mineral tones. Llenca Plana is a single-vineyard expression produced under the Mas d’en Gil estate, one of Priorat’s historic and highly respected producers. The estate dates back to the 19th century and is currently run by the Rovira family. Llenca Plana represents one of their most prized vineyard sites.

Region Profile: Priorat wine region, located in northeastern Spain, is one of two regions in Spain classified as Denominación de Origen Calificada (DOQ), the highest status level. Characterized by its rugged terrain with steep hills and valleys. Priorat’s soil, known as 'llicorella', is composed of reddish and black slate with small particles of mica, which reflects sunlight and conserves heat.
