Grape Profile: Tempranillo grapes generally exhibit flavors of plum and berries, accompanied by notes of tobacco, cedar, and leather from oak aging. The wines tend to have a noticeably deep ruby color, medium to high tannin levels, and medium acidity.

Region Profile: Rioja is one of Spain’s most iconic wine regions. Located in the north-central part of Spain, mainly along the Ebro River valley. It's shielded by the Sierra de Cantabria mountains to the north and the Sierra de la Demanda mountains to the south. The region is divided into three main sub-regions (Rioja Alavesa, Rioja Alta and Rioja Oriental).
