Grape Profile: Syrah typically features rich fruit flavors such as blackberry, plum, and blueberry. It often carries secondary notes of spices, black pepper, and sometimes smoked meat or olive-like savory elements. The use of oak in aging can introduce flavors of vanilla, toast, and coffee.

Region Profile: Fort Ross–Seaview is one of California’s most dramatic and extreme AVAs, perched high above the Pacific Ocean along the rugged Sonoma Coast. Vineyards sit at elevations above the fog line, receiving intense sunlight during the day while benefiting from strong maritime winds and cool nighttime temperatures. Soils are predominantly well-drained sandstone and fractured shale, contributing to concentration and mineral character.
